Peace, love, and good vibes aren’t just for hippies.
Do you remember the last time you noticed someone light up a room? They may have had good energy—good vibes, so to speak—and physics may be to thank.
The universe consists of molecules vibrating at different speeds. Studies have shown that human emotions are no exception.
Vibrational energy experts believe that emotions and thought patterns radiate certain vibrational frequencies. Feelings of joy, peace, love, and all that other cliché goodness create higher frequencies—while anger, fear, and sadness generate lower frequencies.
Consider, then, that wellness and consciousness are not abstract ideas, but tangible—and therefore controllable—entities.
To raise your vibrational output and your happiness, try out these methods:
I always rolled my eyes when my mom told me mid-tantrum to consider the positive. All I could think was “there are starving children—at least you have dinner on the table.”
That never helped.
However, practicing gratitude is one of the fastest ways to raise your vibrations—often when you acknowledge a more personal token than something as potentially unrelatable as starving children.
Whether you make a mental note or open your Notes app and write it down, take a moment to acknowledge something close to you that you’re thankful for.
If you’re face down crying in bed, think about how comfy the pillow under your head feels. If you have a furry friend, scratch their ears and thank them for their unconditional love.
Using meditation to reach higher consciousness sounds unattainable for most. What the heck is higher consciousness? Why do I want to be enlightened when I’m about to miss a deadline?
Think, instead, about meditation as a tool to raise your vibrational energy by calming your nervous system. By breathing yourself into the present, you’ll physically alter your state of mind, and your mood will improve accordingly.

Eating nutrient-dense “brain food” such as green leafy vegetables, nuts, and berries will literally add better energy to your being.
Everything from processed food to instant coffee can lower your vibrations. For an easy alternative, switch out your morning coffee for matcha.
Tea is a high-vibe choice loaded with antioxidants, and the naturally occurring L–Theanine provides non-jittery energy to help get you through the day. (Also, if you need five more reasons to make the switch, check out this article).
What you produce is what you attract. The higher vibrations you produce, the higher vibrations you’ll receive from the universe.
Once you accept that everything in the universe has matter—not just what you can touch, but what you think, feel, and do—you’ll develop a greater autonomy for your happiness and sanity.
Time to ride those high vibes, dude.
