Over 30 years of research & athlete testing Sweet Sweat is one of the most scientifically tested workout enhancers in the fitness industry.
Sweet Sweat was developed in the late 1970s by fitness expert and former athlete Jeff Pedersen — a three-time national champion with the University of Southern California (USC) Trojans and a Chicago Cubs draftee. Pedersen created the formula for his 500-member athletic club, with the goal of enhancing and accelerating their workout programmes.
It took nearly four years of daily physical testing — on himself and his club members — to refine the product. The results were so immediate and impressive that word spread quickly, with friends of members asking for access too. In 1980, Sweet Sweat was brought to market.

Independent research — USC, 1984
A landmark independent study was conducted at USC in 1984 by Dr. Robert A. Wiswell, PhD. — a renowned exercise physiologist and associate professor and chairman of the university’s physical education department. Dr. Wiswell concluded that Sweet Sweat increases heat production in the muscles used during exercise, and that this thermal effect was significant across all subjects tested.*
The principle is straightforward: the harder you exercise, the greater the calories burned — both through muscle contraction and as heat. Sweet Sweat is designed to amplify that thermal response, helping you work harder and more efficiently from warm-up through to recovery.
How the thermographic testing works Sports Research continues to test athletes by having them apply Sweet Sweat to one side of the body, then jump rope for 20–25 minutes. A thermographic scanner — which measures and records infrared heat patterns — is used to compare both sides. The side treated with Sweet Sweat consistently shows a significant increase in temperature and circulation compared to the untreated side.*
Sweet Sweat is used by athletes across baseball, bodybuilding, boxing, football, mixed martial arts, football, tennis, and track and field. It is designed to work on areas of the body that are slow to respond during exercise.*
Circulation
Improved blood flow Targets and activates slow-to-respond areas, substantially improving circulation to the body parts where it is applied.*
Thermal effect
Enhanced sweating Increases heat production in working muscles, accelerating the body’s natural sweating response for a more intensive workout.*
Recovery
Faster warm-up & recovery Helps release toxins and accelerates both warm-up and post-exercise recovery time.*
